Film "Tribute" To Communist Leader Banned in Malaysia

This is something which sparked my interest considering not many IMDB news feed has something on Malaysia. So here's the article in question.

"A high-ranking Malaysian government official has overruled the country's National Film Censorship Board and banned the movie The Last Communist, described as a tribute to Chin Peng, the exiled leader of the banned Communist Party of Malaysia. Deputy Home Minister Datuk Tan Chai Ho said today (Monday) that he had the right to revoke or cancel the board's approval of the film "because of public interest." In a statement, he said, "The public was not very happy about the movie."

1. Again, its another one of those politicians who thinks of the 'public interest' is his reason to revoke or cancel the approval of the film because 'he had the right'!?

2. Do not use the public to hide behind what would be your personal interests in regards to the film itself.

3. Now I wonder why the other main dailies has not covered this yet? Government censorship perhaps?

4. Also its interesting to note that it is the NFCB that approved the film to be screened.
